Joyfire

I shared a growing smile with a stranger.

As we walked toward each other the social smiles came automatically. I was grateful for that simple smile. Not everyone I met had returned my smile.

And my smile grew. The stranger smiled a bit bigger in return.

The beauty of the stolen warmth in a fall month buoyed me.

My genuine unleashed joy was a call for her to loose her own.

And though we did not exchange a word, by the time we crossed paths, each of our faces were shaped by genuine delight.

We shared a conversation in happiness.
